Studio 2000 is a custom fabrication facility specializing in signage and architectural decoration. Focusing on the design and production of three-dimensional objects, our aim is to provide clients with the highest level of quality in identity presentation. Studio 2000 operates on the proposition that all visible elements of a business entity affect how the business is perceived by the public. From the logo, stationery and business card to the signage, architecture and interior decor, everything has an impact. Image is a total package. Image is identity. Studio 2000 seeks the client who is aware of this reality and wishes to improve the quality of the physical elements in their presentation package. We provide signage and decorative products directly to businesses and indirectly as a resource for design agencies and other sign companies. The craftsmen at Studio 2000 have fabricated custom products for David Carter Design (Houston, Texas), Walt Disney Imagineering (Orlando, Florida), Lady Luck Casinos (Las Vegas, Nevada), and Idaho-based companies such as Armstrong Interior Design, Lombard Conrad Architects, Golden West Advertising, Young Electric Sign Company, Hummell Architects, St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, Brockett Display, The Christiansen Corporation, Kreizenbeck Construction and others.

About the Partners

Kevin Mills is a 30 year veteran of the sign industry. His career began in 1979 when he joined Technic Design, a newly founded company based in Emmett, Idaho. As the sole employee in a two-man operation, it was Kevin's responsibility to oversee all aspects of production from the initial setup of the workspace to every detail of daily fabrication. Over the next eleven years, Kevin guided the fabrication facility through impressive growth and transition. Landing a national account to provide Albertsons grocery stores with interior signage required major expansion. Kevin's organization allowed the shop to accommodate this growth efficiently. The business added trade show exhibits and custom fixtures to their product line and became a wholesale supplier of custom cut-out aluminum and polished brass lettering.

Kevin joined Classic Design Studio in 1990, to manage production and to set up a facility for the fabrication of three-dimensional signage. As much as Technic Design tended toward the industrial, Classic Design Studio embraced the artistic. During Kevin's tenure as production manager, Classic Design Studio's revenue grew almost 20% each year.

Create

In 1999, Kevin decided to start his own business, Studio 2000. With a small start up loan he purchased a CNC router and various woodworking equipment needed to begin producing high quality signage and custom fabricated elements. Constantly upgrading with technological advances in the trade, the business has grown with the addition of a partner and production employees to improve efficiency and production. The Studio 2000 manufacturing facility is now 3,000 sq. ft.

Kevin has broken from the traditional, outdated products employed by most sign makers and has developed new systems for using a whole gamut of modern materials and paint product lines. These new systems include plastics, resins, industrial building supplies, urethane paints and other equally durable products. Over nine years, Kevin's range of procedures and techniques provided Studio 2000 with a state of the art technical edge, allowing the studio to produce a breadth of products unmatched by any other sign shop in the nation. As a result, he has received numerous awards for sign design and fabrication, and is a recognized master craftsman throughout the international sign making community.

Betty Mills joined Studio 2000 as a partner in 2006. She has an Associates Degree in Business, attending George Fox University and Chemeketa Community College. Early in her career, Betty was a Senior Office Specialist for North Salem High School, providing administrative support for three Vice Principals.

Betty moved on to serve as Assistant Scheduler for Governor Ted Kulongoski of Oregon and as First Lady's Assistant. Betty provided executive clerical support to the Governor, First Lady and Governor's Assistant and coordinated meetings and events for the scheduling team and participants.

Subsequently, Betty served as Office Manager for Pacific Arrhythmia Consultants. She managed personnel, payroll, benefits, and accounting for the company. During her tenure with Pacific Arrhythmia Consultants, Betty obtained valuable insights in health care and medical facilities that enhances the value of Studio 2000's products for medical facilities such as St. Luke's Hospital.

Betty and Kevin at work

Upon joining Studio 2000, Betty brought business management skills that have increased the efficiency and productivity of the company. She manages the company's finances and ensures that supplies are in place and that production schedules are met. When a contractor left out important details in a lobby installation, Betty received a panicked call inquiring whether Studio 2000 could design and manufacture these in a very short time period. Betty, Kevin and the Studio 2000 staff rose to the occasion and the architectural details were installed the night before the Grand Opening. The owner of the building was ecstatic!
